Self care is more than skin care! Here are a few tips to truly take care of yourself:

*Make time for your existence to take up space: every week, day, or hour (depending in how advanced you are) turn off your phone/laptop/TV/radio and any other device that could hold your attention captive, and be still for 10 minutes. Focus on your breath and slowly try to quiet your mind. This can help you bring clarity if you have a difficult decision to make.
*Be aware that the only thing you can change/control is your behavior- nothing else. Search for where you lose your energy by trying to control something/someone and redirect that energy towards you.
*Build your self confidence enough that you don’t feel you have to prove your worth anymore: recognize what you’re good at and what you are not good at.
*Hug yourself, talk to yourself, make yourself laugh, support yourself, be your biggest fan: stop waiting for someone to make you feel seen, needed, loved, cared for. Stop waiting for someone to make you feel those things, and start feeling them NOW. If you think you NEED someone in your life to make you like yourself, then let me ask you… who told you that?

Be there for you, be strong, make mistakes, learn, start again. It’s all a game fueled by your self love

You owe it to yourself to be honest, especially about your feelings.

We are more and more used to use a mask to function in society. A mask that guarantees us likeability many times, but that in reality is a sure road towards superficiality.

We believe that we are too much, or not enough, or even worse, often times we think “if I show myself to the world, they’ll leave”.

So we often choose to hide. To conceal, to lock up the real version of us. So much so that we often forget we have the mask on and we confound it with our true self.

Find the truth in your existence, look it in the eyes and allow it to filter the people in your life between people who want to use you and people who actually care about you.

Don’t be discouraged by the numbers

Asking for help/support is a huge part of “taking care of yourself”.

Being hyper focused on a third party’s well being more than your own (being even family or friends) is a huge red flag for you. Somewhere, along the lines, you might be neglecting yourself and your needs.

It could come from many accumulating factors, of course, but one of the most common is that, during your childhood, you had to suppress your own needs and put the needs of the caregivers above your own.

Meaning that:
it was your job to not make your caregiver mad;
it was your job to step back if they didn’t like what you say, even if you had the right to express your opinions;
you trained yourself to understand what mood they’re in according to their footsteps or any other non-verbal clues;
you could never dream of telling them “no”;
your caregiver told you “it’s your fault” when it wasn’t;
you try to mimic the behavior of the people surrounding you, because your caregiver was happy when you’d behave like them and you now have associated “mimicking” with “being safe”.

Just so you know there is light at the end of the tunnel.

작년 가을부터 내 옷차림이 얼마나 바뀌었는지 알아챘어요? 한국에 도착해서 나는 헐렁한 드레스 유행을 따랐어요.

그리고 나서 나는 자신을 위한 완벽한 해결책을 찾았는데 한국과 미국의 패션을 섞고 완벽하게 편안한 조합을 얻을 수 있어요.
한국 패션에서 허리 높은 치마와 미국 패션에서 윗몸을 훨씬 더 세련되게 만드는 크롭 톱 선택해요. 덕분에 아름다운 신체의 곡선이 보여요.
신체의 하반신을 닫는 옷에 상반신을 잘 열리는 옷이나 닫히는 옷을 입으면 돼서 그얼마나 많은 조합이 열려 있나요!
지금 나의 옷장에는 치마가 5개밖에 없어요. 흰색 치마와 검은색 치마가 있고 파란색, 베이지색, 녹색 플리트 치마도 있어요. 그리고 크롭 톱들 약 30개 있어요. 아주 다양한 조합을 만들 수 있네요!
재미있는 것은 보통 한국에서 최대한 짧게 치마라든가 반바지를 입고 다니는 게 괜찮는데 윗몸 보여주면 안 된대요. 하지만 나는 반대로 해요.

RICOTTA AND KALE CHEESY WRAPS
I’ve made these a while ago and just got to edit the pictures today. If you’re looking for a quick and easy lunch fix, this is your recipe to go with

Recipe below
Ingredients:
100 grams firm ricotta (use dairy-free cream cheese, if vegan)
2 cups steamed kale
1 garlic clove
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon avocado oil
1/2 cup shredded cheese (use dairy-free cheese, if vegan)
3 whole-meal wraps
Method:
Add ricotta/cream cheese, kale, garlic, lemon juice and avocado oil into a food processor. Pulse until creamy and smooth. Spread about 2 tablespoons of the mixture into each wrap, sprinkle with cheese and roll up. Place wraps in the grill and cook for a couple of minutes until crispy brown on the outside. Slice, serve and enjoy!

Happy and grateful? Or maybe uncomfortable and not really happy in a long term (after 1/5 years after)?

Matcha also deserves a second (or third) chance and I finally figured out how I enjoy drinking this magical drink.

A lot of you wanted me to share how I make my matcha-latte and what I did to actually start loving it!

The first time I tasted a matcha-latte it was with oat milk and I absolutely hated it. I now use lactose-free milk and I steam it and make it as creamy as possible.

Which matcha powder you choose is also very important. I love the Permium Matcha Raw Powder from @purasana_norge and buy mine at @vita_no here in Norway.

I also always add honey or Natreen because I prefer it a bit sweet - just like my regular latte.

You don’t need a fancy matcha set to make a good matcha latte! You can find a lot of helpful how-to videos on YouTube!
